Family!

My dad and Nancy came into town about a week before Jen's wedding. I love having company and Sam was never lonely! It was great to have instant babysitters, too. I got my hair cut and my teeth cleaned in one day! Talk about being productive! :)

Sam and Gramps

Sam and Grancy
(and our waiter from dinner--it was Disco night!)

Photo shoot with the tulips! I love how these cute flowers popped up this year.

My sister took the picture on the right and when I saw it, I felt like it looked so familiar. That night I thumbed through my baby book and found this picture of my mom and me on the left. I was six months old in that photo, the exact same age as Sam. It made me miss my mom so much, but it was a sweet reminder that she's near. I will forever love this picture!

The three amigos at Jim's cousin's wedding in Park City.

Sam is learning some wicked dance moves. We often have dance parties here at home. I can't wait to put her into dance classes some day!

Jen's Wedding!

My sister Jenny got married on April 20th in the Salt Lake Temple. It was a beautiful day and I'm so happy for her and Nate. She put a lot of time and effort into planning this wedding and it was perfect! Here are just a few shots from the day:

Jen had a ring ceremony just before her reception. It was really beautiful.

Easter!

I'll be honest--most days we stay in our jammies. It's just easier and it cuts down on laundry. Yes, I'm THAT lazy. However, I kind of love dressing this little doll up. Below are a few family pictures from Easter this year.

Long Overdue...

Due to some kind nudging (ahem..Adri, Jane...), I'm updating the good ol' blog. Here are some random iPhone photos from the past few months, and then I'll do separate posts on our latest happenings.

Sam on Valentine's Day. Don't you just love her outfit?!

We started solid foods about 6 weeks ago. Sam makes the best faces as soon as she takes her first bite, ("This is the most repulsive food ever!") and then proceeds to eat the entire bowl. She loves everything--even prunes! She's just like her mommy in that respect. :)

Spending some time with Daddy.

She is really starting to love bath time. Yes, we still bathe her in the kitchen sink (it's just so much easier!).
One day we will move up to the tub.

This is Sam's toothbrush. She HATES it. Sam has both her front bottom and top teeth (the bottoms came around 4.5 months, the tops around 6.5 months). Can't believe how early she was!

We were trying to envision what she'd look like with hair. Looks a little like George Washington's wig!

Sam is sitting up on her own now--for at least a  minute or two.
We take a lot of walks in the park with our friends, Taylor and Eleanor. Here we have two cool cats!

Samantha Perry Reimann

On October 2nd, my world completely changed. How grateful I am that I get to be Samantha's mom. She is the sweetest girl--so full of smiles and cuddles. Here are just a few snapshots of that day!

Although I was supposed to get induced on the evening of October 1st, the hospital did not have an open room for me (I didn't even think that would be possible!). Fortunately, little Sam decided she was going to come anyway. I started having contractions about 6:00pm and by 1:00am I was definitely needing to get to the hospital. I was already at a 5.5 when I arrived. This was me after I got the second (yes, second!) epidural. I felt MUCH better after that one!

I called my Dad around 4:00am (6:00am in Pennsylvania) to give him the update.

By about 7:00am I was exhausted. I knew I was going to have to push soon.

Samantha is born! 9:13am on October 2, 2012
8 lb. 12 oz / 21 inches

Jim changed every diaper in the hospital. Bless him.

 Yawn? Smile?

Family bonding time.

Gramps (my dad) and Grancy (my step-mom) meeting their first grandchild (via FaceTime).
Technology is amazing!

Family of 3!

Getting ready to leave the hospital.
I felt about the same way Sam's face shows. What?! No nurses to come help me at home?!?
Thanks to Aunt Steph and Aunt Jen for her "turtles" outfit (the Mitchells have a thing for turtles!)

and we're back!

Yikes! It's been well over a year since I've updated this blog. I had high hopes of keeping up with the blogging world, but school (and then work..and then baby!) got the best of me and I fell way behind. My goal with the new year is to post somewhat regularly. We'll see how it goes!

A lot has happened in the past 14 months. To make it brief...

Found out last January we were expecting!
(This photo was taken the day we found out. We went to the Jimmer/Jazz basketball game with MBA friends that evening. Let's just say I couldn't concentrate on the game very well!)

We graduated from the MBA program (April 2012).
It was so hard to say goodbye to all of our great friends!

We took a "babymoon" to San Diego before we started our jobs.

Found this darling house to rent in Sugar House. We have loved living here.
(No, the dog is not ours. I wish!)

Attended my first baby shower hosted by wonderful MBA friends.
(Steph and Jen were nice to come!)

We both started our jobs in June.

Jim is at Sun Products doing brand management.

I'm contracting for Adobe doing market research.

Attended sweet Sarah's wedding here in Salt Lake.

We started getting ready for the baby.

I had another wonderful baby shower with Ogden friends.

Flew to Florida to see cute Adri get married.
(July heat + Florida humidity + Pregnant Meg = 1 HOT wedding!) :)

Got bigger and bigger!

Tried to create a nursery for baby girl Reimann...
(The walls are still pretty bare, but I'm working on it!)

...and on October 2nd, she arrived!
(I'll wait until the next post to share more photos from that amazing day!)
